"Patricia hired Susie Ramos to be the store manager and Susie bought the shop from Patricia [in 1974 or 1975]," Deniese O’Neill, owner of The Flower Box, told Hello Georgetown. "Susie devoted countless hours to the store, community and the floral industry. She owned the shop for 36 years. Susie built and relocated The Flower Box to the current location at 910 Martin Luther King Jr St in 1988 and we remain at this location today."

Deniese O’Neill began working at The Flower Box as a store manager in 2003 after growing up around the floral industry.

"I started doing flowers in 1992," Deniese O’Neill said. "My mother was a florist. I went to work at shop in Canyon Texas call HRs Flowers and have never looked back or wanted to do anything differently. Being able to make people happy or express their feelings is what I love most. I love the smells and the colors and the way different textures work together to create that perfect feeling or sentiment. It is my passion."

In 2011, Deniese O’Neill purchased the store with her husband Jim, carrying on the legacy of excellence in florals in the community. Today, The Flower Shop offers a variety of products and services for every occasion including:

"We are a full service flower shop," Deniese O’Neill said. "We deliver locally [and] send orders through the wire services to different towns, states or countries…Flowers are a universal timeless language. My motto is ‘We love to create what your heart wants to say!’ We love supporting community projects and just serving the Georgetown community. Everyday brings something different. A florist deals with every aspect that life offers, births, deaths, weddings, divorces, and on and on. I am truly blessed and blessed to be part of this great community."

The Flower Box will be holding an anniversary event on Thursday, October 13th from 9 AM to 7 PM. The public is invited to come celebrate and enjoy door prizes, in-store discounts and refreshments all day with live music, a ribbon cutting, photo booth, food and drinks from 4 PM to 7 PM.
