Kimberly Ann Warzala Silva NEW PALTZ- Kim Warzala Silva, 56, of Hummell Road, New Paltz, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord and was received by the Holy Mother on Sunday morning, May 5, 2013,

Kimberly Ann Warzala Silva NEW PALTZ- Kim Warzala Silva, 56, of Hummell Road, New Paltz, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord and was received by the Holy Mother on Sunday morning, May 5, 2013, at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, N.Y. She was born August 5, 1956 in Niskayuna, she earned her Associate degree from Schenectady County Community College, her Bachelor’s degree from SUNY New Paltz, her Master’s in Social Work from Adelphi University, and did post master’s work at NYU. She was an accomplished and highly respected social work professional, she had worked for Ulster County Mental Health, Crime Victims Assistance Program, and Broadway Central Counseling Center, she had her own private practice Daybreak Psycho Therapy. She was currently employed by NYS Department of Mental Health, Rockland Psychiatric Center. She enjoyed traveling through this country, the Caribbean, and Europe. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Novitiate, Congregation of St. Pius V, her faith was very important to her, with her trip to the Vatican being a highlight. She was an accomplished artist and an award winning photographer. Kim is survived by her former husband’s Peter G. Silva, and Dr. Edward M. Warzala; sons, Joseph P. Silva and Evan E. Warzala; her adopted mother, Anne Peek; a brother, David Kazda and a sister, Lynn Slater and her husband Kenneth. Entrusted to the care of Eric Keyser, A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave., Kingston, the family will receive their friends on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. A Requiem Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Josephs Novitiate, Congregation of St. Pius V, Round Top, N.Y. on Friday at 11 a.m. Burial in St. Joseph’s Novitiate Cemetery, Round Top. The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Joseph’s Novitiate, Congregation of St. Pius V, P.O. Box 56, Round Top, N.Y., 12473.
