Ever since my first experience with subscription boxes—a snack box with sesame crackers I still dream about—I’ve been hooked. Sending a gift of the month club is so much more than just shipping off a one-time present. Purchasing a subscription box for birthdays, holidays or “just because” is like sending someone a new present every few weeks—no extra effort required. As Cousin Eddie says in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation of Clark’s jelly of the month bonus: It’s the gift that keeps on giving!

Gift of the month clubs are, in our opinion, some of the most exciting presents to give and receive. Since someone else curates the contents, they’re just as easy to order as a gift card—but feel way more personal. And, all fun aside, they’re also a great way to find new favorite products, which can become mainstays in your diet or lifestyle for years to come.

“There’s regular subscription boxes, and then there’s next level foodie experiences like the Get Maine Lobster box,” says Product Reviews Home Editor, Madi Koetting. “My box arrived within three days of ordering, and it was filled with four crab cakes, clam chowder, four (massive) stuffed clam shells, lobster mac and cheese and of course, two lobster tails. Inside, there was no plastic packing or paper bits for them to ingest (which they totally would). I appreciated the variety of toys for all sorts of playtime shenanigans, and I loved the inclusion of a blanket for my little ladies to lounge on after they’ve had their fun.

Give the gift of learning with this adult-geared arts and crafts crate. Each month, recipients enjoy a box filled with everything needed for one hands-on project. Caroline’s box came with two stickers, craft directions and all the different tools and materials needed to make a resin serving tray. This included the mold, the resin, handles for the tray, a lighter and colored powder. Overall, she found the box easy to follow and a fun way to spend an afternoon creating.

Gift of the month clubs are an excellent way to show someone you care, especially if they’re tailored to the recipient. These clubs offer much value if the person enjoys the items included. Many also offer flexible subscription lengths, so you can choose how long the deliveries last.

While we don’t have a potato chip-specific gift club listed, both the Bokksu snack box and our favorite healthy snack box include chips as possible options in their monthly deliveries.

Costs for gift of the month clubs vary widely based on inclusions, with some clubs priced under $10 a month and others offering picks priced in the hundreds of dollars. Many offer different subscription tiers, which can affect the overall cost.
